Johnson City Rugby faced McMinn County Highlanders on 12 FEB 2022 in a warmup match as we prepare for our matrix season. Johnson City fell to McMinn County 36-24.
Johnson City came out physical for the entirety of the match and put a lot of pressure on the McMinn County offense. Notable play from Sean Stahlman-Pickel, who came away with 3 tries. Most notable a chip and gather while we were inside their 22-meter-line.
Coach Adam Jasenak said, “I’m glad that we were able to face a tough McMinn County team again. It will prepare us and knock the rust off for our upcoming matrix season.”
Johnson City traveled short numbers as members on the team had limited availability because we are traveling to Charleston Blockade next weekend for a makeup matrix match on 19 FEB 2022.
